• What is Manuvis?

• What makes Manuvis’ FactoryMRI^® different from a traditional SCADA or MES system?

Unlike traditional MES software that controls processes FactoryMRI® enables you to measure the process outputs. Manuvis’ solution allows your company to transform ERP to always be in the present!  Manuvis’ FactoryMRI® has been designed and developed by a team of experienced manufacturing executives who needed a method to improve manufacturing operation’s data collection and availability processes. This means key benefits such as updating job status, consuming raw materials, recording labor, and enabling visibility to important resources are possible. In other words, Manuvis replaces manual, error-prone data entry efforts by capturing data from live machine activity, and transforms this data into actionable information. Once ERP’s data is refreshed, it can be used to plan in the NOW, and even help protect the FUTURE as it is intended!

• Do I need to install PC’s on my shop floor to collect data?

FactoryMRI^® is completely browser-based. This means that you can access relevant and valuable information from virtually any device that has a web browser throughout your secured network. FactoryMRI^® is not another traditional shop floor data collection system.  FactoryMRI^® utilizes a unique combination of low-cost hardware and Progress Software products, including its award-winning OpenEdge RDBMS^®, to capture data directly from production machines.

• Will production personnel have to do data entry?

No! FactoryMRI^® will collect the machine and/or production data directly from your production machines. Powerful yet simple-to-use Operator Control Stations (OCS) capture and store every machine or job-related event that occurs during every shift. Additionally, events such as planned/unplanned down time reasons, job setup steps, and quality defects can be assigned by the operator, through the OCS, using simple function keys.

• Do I need to install software on every computer I want to view/interact with FactoryMRI^®?

No! FactoryMRI^® is completely browser-based. This means that anyone with proper security privileges can access relevant information from virtually any device that has a web browser, from anywhere on the globe, through your company’s secured network.

• What functions can I perform from my web browser?

You may view current (near real-time) shop floor information, retrieve data from other business software that has been interfaced with FactoryMRI^®, and export data for further analysis. See who is working, where they’re working, what is being produced, and how resources are performing. You may monitor summarized or detailed production information including: KPI’s such as OEE, job status at a machine, labor or machine utilization, and then roll-up/drill-down information at the work center, facility, and at a corporate level.

• Will FactoryMRI^® interface with my current systems?

Yes! FactoryMRI^® can interface with most software systems including existing legacy software. ERP, LIMS, WMS, and Quality Control packages using standard connection software.
